<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong></p>
<p>The Evaluation and Program Manager will join an interdisciplinary CRI team focused on putting theory into practice to use, advance, and build evidence about employing approaches to integrative health and health literacy in order to fulfill the mission of Canyon Ranch Institute. <p>The Evaluation and Program Manager will report to the CRI Health Literacy and Research Director. He or she will collaborate with the Health Literacy and Research Director and a strategic team of CRI consultants, staff, and our partners to connect best practices of program management and evaluation to the culturally competent, non-profit public health and wellness programs that support the unique mission and objectives of CRI, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.</p>
<p>CRI rigorously evaluates partnership activities from a perspective that sees evaluation as a specified subset of research activities that adheres to the highest methodological and ethical principles of both the research and evaluation communities.</p>
<p>Through this inclusive, team-oriented process, the Evaluation and Program Manager will manage the evaluation process from planning to outcome measurement for a diverse range of projects. He or she will work with the Health Literacy and Research Director to provide counsel to program staff on evaluation strategy design, implementation and maintenance for initiatives and programs that happen within CRI partnerships aimed at measurably improving the health and well-being of communities in the United States and worldwide.</p>
<p>The Evaluation and Program Manager will play a significant role in a new, innovative project that combines the arts with best practices of health literacy that will be launched in Peru. Thus, Spanish language skills are essential to succeed in the position.</p>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<p> Communicates via phone, email, and during in-person meetings with program partners in South America and the United States.</p>
<p> Travels within the United States and other nations approximately six times per year, with trips lasting from two days to three weeks.</p>
<p> Assists in implementing, managing, and evaluating selected programs and partnerships for CRI.</p>
<p> Reviews selected partnership and program proposals and conducts appropriate reviews to determine suitability for CRI implementation.</p>
<p> Works closely with partners to ensure culturally competent, integrated, and successful execution of agreed-upon projects.</p>
<p> Prepares and manages partnership and program budgets as relevant.</p>
<p> Helps develop and maintain computer software and other database and record-keeping programs to measure and evaluate partnerships and CRI overall to comply with applicable laws, ensure that necessary information is available from partners in a timely fashion, and that evaluations are completed and disseminated on schedule in a manner that is useful to all stakeholders.</p>
<p> Works with CRI communications team to ensure that partnership and program information is appropriately disseminated.</p>
<p> Develops and maintains relationships with external stakeholders, thought leaders, and peer organizations and individuals in order to enhance CRI’s achievement of its objectives.</p>
<p><strong>ADDITIONAL DUTIES OF EVALUATION AND PROGRAM MANAGER</strong></p>
<p> Serves as the CRI lead on evaluation of selected partnerships and programs, to include training and mentoring colleagues and partners about CRI’s approach to planning and evaluating public health programs.</p>
<p> Participates in designing, conducting, and evaluating an innovative program using the arts and health literacy to advance health literacy and public health in Peru.</p>
<p> Assists with the development of collaborative approaches to planning and evaluation strategies.</p>
<p> Responds to requests for evaluation support from partners, colleagues, and others to support the mission of CRI.</p>
<p> Provides technical assistance with the incorporation of evaluation into the planning and implementation of selected CRI programs and initiatives.</p>
<p> Works collaboratively to ensure that evaluation is conducted in a manner that is sensitive to the needs of all program stakeholders and is both culturally competent and health literate.</p>
<p> Responds to requests to contribute to the review of potential partnership and program proposals to provide evaluation-related technical assistance.</p>
<p> Manages evaluation-related activities and deliverables of staff, contractors, and consultants.</p>
<p> Negotiates, recommends, and manages budgets for selected evaluation activities across CRI partnerships and programs.</p>
<p> Participates in the development of data management systems and recommends appropriate software for data analysis.</p>
<p> Researches and develops data-collection tools appropriate for each program and partnership.</p>
<p> Participates in data collection, data management, and data analysis processes.</p>
<p> Communicates outcomes and recommendations to internal and external audiences through presentations, lectures, articles, and other communications opportunities.</p>
<p> Prepares and presents evaluation concepts and data to a wide variety of audiences.</p>
<p> Stays informed about best practices in program management and evaluation.</p>
<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>
<p>• <strong>Education</strong></p>
<p>Masters degree in Public Health or equivalent required. E.g. a Masters degree in Communication, Social Work, Ethnography or related fields in the social or physical sciences with public health and/or non-profit experience (Proof of degree is required.)</p>
<p>• <strong>Experience</strong></p>
<p>At least two years of experience working in a professional capacity in a public health and/or nonprofit health program with responsibility for program management, implementation, evaluation, budgeting, and communications. Prior non-profit experience is a significant plus.</p>
<p>• <strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</strong></p>
<p> Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English.</p>
<p> Proven success in planning, implementing, and evaluating public health partnerships and programs.</p>
<p> Strong background in statistical software packages and methodology.</p>
<p> Strong background in qualitative data analysis software packages and methodology.</p>
<p> Knowledge of chronic disease prevention policy, particularly with respect to obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and asthma.</p>
<p> Knowledge of health disparities policy work, and efforts to improve health literacy and disseminate best practices.</p>
<p> Analytical ability and strategic, tactical thinking.</p>
<p> Ability to prioritize and process multiple complex projects and deadlines with attention to detail and organization.</p>
<p> Ability to creatively approach challenges and projects.</p>
<p> Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in team environments.</p>
<p> Excellent oral, written and presentation skills in English.</p>
<p> Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of working efficiently without daily management or supervision.</p>

<p>The California Center for Public Health Advocacy (CCPHA), a 501(c3) tax exempt organization, seeks to hire a Finance Director experienced in non-profit financial management.</p>
<p>Candidates must have a demonstrated track record in managing non-profit finances with a budget of more than $1 million; an understanding of regulations governing non-profit organizations including familiarity with the IRS form 990 and compliance requirements for organizations with budgets in excess of $2 million. The Finance Director is responsible for managing CCPHA’s financial operations and coordinating all finance-related work of our Davis and southern California (Baldwin Park) office.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>•	Manage all financial operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, budgetary and financial reporting, and an annual audit;</p>
<p>•	Maintain the organization’s budgets, including multi-year separate and combined budgets for the Davis and Baldwin Park offices and multiple project-specific budgets;</p>
<p>•	Prepare monthly financial reports for Executive Director, Regional Director and project directors; •	Prepare regular reports for the finance committee of the Board of Directors; •	Provide financial support to CCPHA’s Baldwin Park office; •	Work with Director of Administration on procurement and Human Resources Benefits issues;</p>
<p>•	Work with Development Director to track donations from private donor campaign; •	Develop and maintain Financial Policy manual.</p>
<p>A minimum of 10 years of financial management experience is required. Strong financial skills and knowledge of QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2010, Excel and other specialized software designed for non-profit organizations managing multiple incomes and reporting sources is required. Experience with Crystal Accounting software, personnel manual policy writing and/or grant proposal writing is a plus.</p>
<p>CCPHA is a non-partisan organization that raises awareness about public health issues and mobilizes communities to promote the establishment of effective health policies. CCPHA’s annual budget is approaching $2 million and the organization operates with funding from approximately a dozen funding sources each year. CCPHA regards the resolution of the obesity and diabetes epidemics to be a social justice issue and seeks a Finance Director with a similar perspective.</p>

<p>Recruit, screen, hire, train, develop, observe, mentor, coach, and evaluate healthcare faculty as needed to maintain the overall quality and integrity of teaching and learning within the program.</p>
<p>Actively participate in the college’s student retention management program and achieve annual campus quarterly retention targets for the healthcare program.</p>
<p>Works with the Director of Academic Affairs and other campus academic affairs department staff to plan and implement student activities, including Orientation and Graduation.</p>
<p>Provide input for the quarterly healthcare program Master Schedule including identifying course offerings and scheduling students for appropriate classes as needed to maintain an effective and efficient course schedule that keeps student on track for graduation and falls within budgeting guidelines.</p>
<p>Implement the Heald plan for the assessment of student learning outcomes and support services including participation in systematic program review for the healthcare program.</p>
<p>Assign faculty to courses, staff classes with current instructors, and provide substitutes when necessary.</p>
<p>Conducts all Healthcare education faculty observations and evaluations.</p>
<p>Work with students for any requested schedule changes prior to add/drop period of quarter.</p>
<p>Develop a positive classroom learning environment to insure high rates of student success.</p>
<p>Provide regularly scheduled academic advising to students within the healthcare program.</p>
<p>Participate in curriculum design and development activities including actively working with CAO and the other campus faulty and program directors as needed to maintain the overall quality and integrity of the curriculum for the healthcare program.</p>
<p>In conjunction with corporate academic affairs, develop healthcare program articulation agreements.</p>
<p>Implement new or revised curriculum on campus including text book selection and selection of equipment and supplies.</p>
<p>Ensure program-level compliance with all internal academic policies and procedures and all applicable accrediting standards, state licensing requirements, FERPA, and all other applicable external rules and regulations.</p>
<p>Recruit participants and actively participate in employer advisory committees and other activities designed to solicit input into curriculum and build relationships with the employers and potential employers or Heald graduates.</p>
<p>Respond to industry needs within campus’s region with community involvement and the development and management of student internships.</p>
<p>Insure Learning Experience Survey is administered quarterly, provide all survey results to faculty, and assist faculty in improving teaching and student learning outcomes.</p>
<p>Assist Director of Academic Affairs with development of annual program budget and operating within budget guidelines.</p>
<p>Identify and develop externship sites and extern agreements. Monitor and supervise externship activities and ensure compliance with extern site agreements.</p>
<p>All Program Directors have teaching responsibilities, with teaching load determined by the numbers of active students in their designated discipline.</p>
<p><strong>To successfully fulfill this function, the following is required:</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong>An earned baccalaureate degree <em>and </em>the appropriate <span style="text-decoration: underline;">demonstrable</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">current</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">professional</span> level experience in the assigned field.</p>
<p>CMA/RMA, RN, or Physician with a minimum of three (3) years experience in healthcare, including a minimum of 40 hours of experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures performed by medical assistants.</p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">Under the general direction of the Tuberculosis (TB) Registry Chief, the candidate will act as the primary TB content advisor to a project management team for web-based TB disease reporting. The candidate will work with both technical and non-technical partners to identify needs in TB surveillance, contribute to successful implementation of web-based TB reporting, and provide ongoing support on the use of web-based reporting for TB surveillance into the future. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">The Surveillance and Informatics Coordinator will be the primary liaison to TB programs of local health departments (LHDs) to implement changes in TB surveillance and reporting, including web-based reporting, and will lead efforts to train local staff on TB surveillance activities cases across California. </span></span></p>

Together with the Executive Director, the Resource Development  Director is responsible for raising an annual budget of approximately  $1,200,000 from a diverse mix of sources including foundations,  government, corporations, fees for services and donations. The salary range for this position is $$64,000 &#8211; $75,000/year plus  benefits including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays, sick time, 401K plan. </span></span></p>
